Managed Care – DAKOTACARE contracts with 100% of all the hospitals in South Dakota; 98% of all physicians; and 98% of all pharmacies. With participation like that, healthcare professionals are better able to collaborate and communicate about the health needs of their patients. DAKOTACARE’s managed care activities are carried out in a manner that recognizes and respects the privacy of the patient/physician relationship.

Quality Care – There are more than 2,600 physicians in over 200 communities across the state that have their patients’ best interest in mind. Because these physicians participate with DAKOTACARE, they have greater ability to most effectively manage the treatment options for a patient. Quality in healthcare is not only DAKOTACARE’s number one priority, but they also know and believe that the highest quality healthcare is also the lowest cost healthcare in the long run.
