DAKOTACARE Administrative Services, Inc. (DAS)

Since 1992, DAS has been the Midwest’s managed care leader in third party administration, managing the health care of more than 105,000 members nationwide. DAS is focused on delivering to the self funded market a unique integrated product. DAS combines the effective, cost-saving medical management model developed over years of serving our insured and self-funded groups and individuals, with the efficient administration expected from your third party administrator.

In 2007, DAS introduced HealthTRAQ, a proprietary business intelligence tool that allows employers, consultants and our stop loss partners access on a secure, “real time” basis, to our system environment. This makes DAS a truly transparent product, unlike the large commercial carriers with whom we compete.

The DAS model has proven to reduce employer’s cost, provide quality medical management, state of the art medication therapy management, and accessable, responsive customer service.

Each client is assigned a dedicated Account Manager to be the “single source” of contact for them. DAS also provides web tools for members to access their claims and EOB’s. The employer also has access to a portal to manage enrollment and download all necessary forms. DAS also supports our self funded clients by providing a professional team to review and provide advice for plan design and language changes within the plan document.  

Underwriting

DAS provides its clients with claim projection analysis, large claim analysis and premium rate projections, in addition to stop loss carrier projections. DAS also files reinsurance claims on a weekly basis to insure timely reimbursements.

DAKOTACARE built its reputation on strong customer service, quality coverage and a hassle free claims process that requires "no paperwork." DAS claims services includes:

Managed Care

Medical Management is a truly integrated resource with DAS. The same internal staff,comprised of physicians, pharmacists, and nurses, manage all DAKOTACARE members regardless of whether they are fully insured or self insured. DAS members receive:

Stop-Loss Insurance

DAS has developed relationships with several reinsurance partners that discount rates based on our ability to control claims costs. At a minimum, our Stop Loss partners carrier an A.M. Best rating of ‘A’.
